Ductable suits larger, irregular or partitioned floor plates; cassette suits single rooms where a duct run isn't justified.

Yes — the unit, ducting and diffusers all sit within the ceiling void, so a false ceiling with enough depth (typically 250-300mm) is required. We confirm the available void height during the site survey before recommending ductable over cassette or split.

Filters and coils still need scheduled cleaning, and duct interiors benefit from periodic inspection, but because the unit sits above the ceiling, servicing is scheduled around your operating hours rather than disrupting the room below. We cover this under our standard servicing and AMC plans.

Running cost comes down to correct sizing and duct design, not the format itself. A well-designed ductable system serving several rooms from one compressor is often more efficient than an equivalent number of individual splits, because capacity is matched to actual combined load instead of oversized per room.

In most cases, yes, provided there's usable ceiling void and a viable route for the outdoor unit and drainage. We assess this on site — sometimes a cassette or high-wall split is the more practical retrofit where ceiling depth is limited.
